Still from the movie What are the Odds
By a sense of familiarity,
I exist in your eyes
with broken eyelashes,
and unsung prayers.
In between the sighs
we breathe our last.
Our existence is a goldfish,
in the aquarium on the edge of the table,
about to resist a free fall.
If water splashes out like anger
we are doomed to die
either suffocating
or trying to breathe.
Our gills are heavy with desires,
over the scale of love
we test positive.
If we were to end
we wouldn’t be existing
but then,
end only exists
for those who are alive.
A paradox,
is an epiphany of conflicts
taking a shape,
an invisible form like that of air
emerging out of the sea.
We are a freshwater fish,
salt is going to pull our souls.
Out in the world,
beside the aquarium
we are two fishes
fighting for the food,
you take the red ones
I swallow the blue,
we laugh
but it feels like a flu.

Love the symbolism in your words lovely, the Earth being one big fishbowl and we are all fish inside not knowing when the bowl shakes, what fish ends up outside the bowl suddenly fighting for air. So many issues and problems, the world is a Matrix, the red and blue pill….where things sneak up in society and it does seem like the flu but the problem may be deeper when fighting for air….everything goes blue. That’s why it’s important to stay safe, and realize that even though as fish….humanity fights for food, they can learn from the certain fish that swim in schools. It’s good to stick together.
