once upon a time on the Earth…
______________
i) Mother’s wrinkled prayers between words she whispers on the phone while I am away sitting in front of the television watching advertisement.
ii) Father’s cold hands on my cheeks when he wakes me up in the morning and warm salam when he comes home.
iii)The fresh aroma of tea leaves from the kitchen where my sister often cooks the food she wants to eat.
iv)The brimming stories about weather, families, and heartbreaks my grandparents tell when they can’t sleep.
v)The diaries I gifted myself on several occasions only to keep all of them empty for words were never enough.
vi)The flowers I received over a virtual machine are more aromatic than real flowers for there’s a touch of love in the images.
vii) My dream of building a library and growing a garden together where every petal will be a poetry and each root will grow into a story.
viii)The bottle of perfume that smells like a memory so distant yet so close to my heart that sometimes my skin smells of you.
ix)The sad songs on my playlist ending on a hopeful note.
x) The way morning chirps in my balcony bringing a hope that one fine day I will find a home too.
xi) Poetry. The way tulips are excitable. Sylvia.
xii) The warmth of a boundary I have made around my ribcage to protect everything that belongs to someone else.
xiii)The sound of Azaan from four mosques together. The call for prayer. The call for a sukoon.
xiv)The room where I planted sunflowers but bloomed roses. The room which is almost a garden but a home too.
xv)In my nightmares, I chase a dream. I hope it’s you.
xvi)The first of the summer rain, the light drops falling down in spirals.
xvii)Adding points in this list.

A beautiful list and an eye catcher was In the nightmare, you chase a dream. That had so much beauty in it, such power in that statement….. beyond the darkness I seek the light. You have a heart that words can not speak of.🌹

Edgar Allan Poe said “dream within a dream”, I guess modern world is a modification of life with a nightmare within a dream. I appreciate your kindness towards my words. Gratitude.🍃
